Hormel study papers, 1933-1958.

Notes and extracts of interviews conducted by Blum from 1947 to 1954, with workers in the George A. Hormel & Company meatpacking plant in Austin, Minnesota. Blum also interviewed foremen, management and supervisory personnel in the plant as well as Austin community leaders. The sociological study focused on many aspects of the interviewee's reactions to his work, the union, community activities, politics, religion, and relationships with other workers.
